The "Ministry of Youth and Sports" brings down the curtain on the sixth sports meeting of the University Girl Olympiad
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has brought down the curtain on the activities of the university girl sports meeting (University Girl Olympics*) for the academic year 2022/2023, which was organized by the Ministry through the Central Administration for Sports Development (General Administration for Student Sports Activity) for the sixth year in a row in cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports in South Sinai Governorate Under the slogan "*Young Universities of the New Republic*" "*For better health for Egyptian students*", during the period from 5 to 8 December in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Under the patronage of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai.
500 female students from 20 Egyptian universities participated in the Olympiad activities (South Valley - Beni Suef - Sohag - Damietta - Tanta - Banha - Aswan - Kafr El-Sheikh - Zagazig - Mansoura - Suez Canal - Assiut - Menoufia - Sadat - Al-Azhar - Helwan - Cairo - Damanhour - Arish - Ain Shams).
The final competitions and qualifiers were held at the Sharm El-Sheikh Club (Sports Development Center) in games (five-a-side football – volleyball – table tennis – athletics – karate – swimming).

The closing ceremony and awards distribution witnessed d. Amr Haddad - Assistant Minister, Eng. Enas Samir - Deputy Governor of South Sinai, Ahmed Hassan, Director General of the General Administration of Student Sports Activity, Prof. Mohamed Fathi, Director of the Directorate of Youth and Sports in the governorate, Prof. Mohamed Abdel Samie, Director of the Universities Department at the Ministry, Prof. Ahmed Massad, Deputy Directorate, a. Adel Al-Hawari, the project coordinator, in addition to sports specialists from the Ministry and the Directorate.
It is worth noting that the implementation of the meeting comes in light of the directives of the political leadership and within the framework of the national project for physical fitness and the keenness of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to raise the level of physical fitness and expand the base of sports practice for Egyptian university students.
It is also due to its deep belief in the important role played by such events in building the students’ personality and providing them with various skills and abilities, discovering and refining their talents to serve them in the future, and working to exploit their energies and transform them into positive energy that adds to society.
In addition to the Ministry's interest in establishing activities, programs and projects in tourist areas to introduce Egypt's heritage, historical and urban landmarks and to enhance the spirit of belonging and loyalty to them in line with *Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.
